In the toddler room, we provide a variety of activities based on the children's interest to fulfill their curiosity. Children are encouraged to explore and learn through meaningful play, science and nature experiences, songs, music & movement, finger-play, storytelling, creative, sensory, cognitive, gross-motor and fine-motor activities. Our program also focuses highly on developing the child's language skills through role modeling during staff and child communication. Through pretend play the children are given the opportunities to enhance the social and emotional skills that help them to progress through the stages of solitary play and parallel play. Toddlers begin potty training and learning basic self help skills such as dressing and undressing, eating independently and personal hygiene. Our goal is to help the children to develop the basic skills that are required in order to have a smooth transition to the next level in the preschool room.
Our programming focuses on several areas of development including:
- Sensory Development
- Language Development
- Creative Expression
- Cognitive Development
- Fine Motor & Gross Motor
- Music and Movement Activities
- Special Interest Activities
- Social-Emotional Development
- Outdoor Activities
Parent-Educator communication is encouraged on a daily basis in providing feedback and information about the infant’s day at the daycare. Parent and Educator Interview or Progress Review is conducted periodically to share the progress of the children’s learning, achievement and behavior. Documentation in various forms and media, such as portfolios, learning stories, visual learning boards, slideshows, newsletters or Blogs are used as tools to share the children's learning process.
